About Anidal

Anidal is a word-guessing game with an animal theme that makes it more enjoyable. In Anidal, players have six chances to guess the name of a genuine animal. Every day, the game gives participants a new "mystery animal" term to guess.

Anidal is different since it has a word-guessing game like Wordle, but you can only guess the name of an animal. This tests your intelligence and helps you learn more about animals at the same time.

Anidal is an open-source project, which means that the game's source code, interface, and data are all available to the public so that anybody can add to, change, or build on what has already been done.

How to play?

These are the essential steps you need to follow to play Anidal:

Get the theme and start the game

  • While you play, you will know that the word you need to guess is the name of an animal, but you won't know how long it is or what it is.
  • You can guess the right animal six times.

Type in your guess and hit "submit."

  • You type in the name of an animal that you think might be the solution on each turn.
  • The guess has to be real (it has to be on the game's list of animals)

Get feedback on color

  • When you guess, each letter in the word will change color to show you how right or wrong it is:

Green: The letter is right and in the right place.
Yellow: The letter is right, but it's at the wrong place.
Gray: The letter isn't in the word that is a mystery.

Change your next assumption based on what people say.

  • Use the letter colors to get rid of erroneous options, try new letter combinations, or adjust the location.
  • To win, you have to predict as close to the truth as you can in six turns.

Results and try again the next day

  • You win and the session ends if you predict correctly in six turns or less.
  • If you can't guess after six turns, you lose and have to wait until the next day to try again.
