Sports enthusiasts might love Poeltl, a sports puzzle game inspired by the NBA (National Basketball Association). The game’s title was chosen to honor Jakob Poeltl, a famous San Antonio Spurs star.
The game is similar to Wordle!! in some aspects. The rules are simple. Your job is to identify the name of an NBA player by looking at his or her silhouette. You have eight attempts in total to give the correct name. Poeltl will show various information about an athlete when you type in their names. Information including a player’s appearance, height, weight, age, team, position, etc., will be available to you in columns. The columns will be colored in different colors, indicating various hints about the player.
The difference between Poeltl and Wordle
Poeltl is very similar to Wordle!! in many aspects, such as gameplay and control. However, it has some basic differences. While Wordle!! is kind of a traditional Scrabble puzzle game, Poeltl offers visual hints to solve the puzzle.
In Wordle!! you have six attempts to make a guess, but Poeltl provides eight tries.
How to play
Players have eight tries to guess an NBA player's identity. The initial assumption is entirely theoretical. Players can choose a name from the game's drop-down list if they are unable to recall players' names off the top of their heads.
The game will show the player's team, conference, division, position, height, age, and jersey number after the initial guess is made.
If you give the right answer, it will be highlighted in green, while the yellow color indicates that the player’s answer is getting close to the correct one.
